#1 | | Newbie | I have this really annoying problem. I´ve resently upgraded my computer with an amd 64 3000+ processor and a MSI K8N nForce motherboard. I did this to play Counter-strike more smooth.
But the computer crashes sometimes when a HE goes off! First I thought it was the graphic card or processor but I´m pretty shure it´s my soundcard that does.
The soundcard thats integrated is an AC97!
What can I do?
I´ve upgraded to the last driver.
Please help me!

#4 | | Newbie | This is the state: all drivers are up to date except the bios because I dont dare upgrade it. But it should work fine anyway?
I did overclock my videocard once about a year ago, but everything worked fine until I installed the new motherboard and processor.
I´m pretty shure it´s the soundcard. I use the driver from this webpage.
My computer:
MSI K8N nForce 3, socket 939
AMD 64 3000+
768 MB RAM
Geforce 4 MX440

#5 | | Newbie | Counter-strike is based on steam now, it updates atuo when it has to, and theres just one original file. So thats not the problem.
I´ve formatted a couple of times to. |

#6 | | Site Staff | Have you tried to disable the AC97 from the BIOS and you tested the systems for crashes? What about the DDR Timing? |
| |

#7 | | Newbie | I dont know what the DDR Timing is or hw to test it.
The thing I have tested is to uninstall the audio driver. It hasnt crashed yet. I dont know how to do that thing about BIOS. When you say to test the system from crashes, do you mean to play cs and see if it crashes? |

#8 | | Newbie | Now I´m getting crazy! :diablo:
It´s not the sound card. I uninstalled it and the problem continous!
And it´s more frequently now and it seems random. It´s now always a HE, but other events too. I dont have the warranty left for the processor. I have it for the motherboard but I dont want to send that away, it would leave without a cumputer for weeks and thats impossible. :fool:
I´m in serious need of help! Please someone, give it to me!
