Default Conexant High Definition Audio

Hey,

I currently own a HP Pavilion dv9000 computer which has a Conexant HD Audio sound card built-in.

So here's the story. One day my laptop just stalled and I had to reboot it using the hardware button.
After rebooting the system I got the WinXP prompt saying I didnt reboot propertly and that I might of caused damage (no one really cares about this messages but what ever).
Anyway, right after that, my laptop's built-in speakers didnt work anymore (I know they work because I can still hear the beeps caused by the multimedia buttons).

Anyway, I tried upgrading/reinstalling drivers but nothing works.
It's like it just know the speakers exist because when I plug my headphones everything works just fine.

Anyone has any idea? (I tried googling this for HOURS)

Thanks in advance!

Cool

Hey Zor , long time no see here , and actualy i dont know is this good or bad

Anyway , culd it be some bug with volume set , actualy dunno how to check it .
Other . uninstall all soft/driver for sound card, and use some registry editor ( i use Regedit ) and manualy search for left over of the soft , this probale wont help , but some times i was able to make things work (with the search option not totaly manualy ). As you say its not HW problem , something in soft/driver got broken .

Or , best if ther is some software that is desingned to clean files of you SC . But that probable dont exist , and anyway the problem me be deper.

I'd just rebuild if I was you, you couold muck about for an age and get nowhere, whereas a rebuild will take an hour or so and confirm HW or SW as the culprit.

Zor, I have been trying to find the drivers for the same sound card for XP instead of Vista. I was searching the internet when I came across this thread. Could you contact me and maybe email them to me? Thanks!
