Default Vista x64 X-Fi identified as "Multimedia Audio Controller", can't install drivers

Installed Vista Ultimate x64 2 days ago. The drivers installed fine then, the sound card was working fine. Then, I few hours ago, I shut down my PC to screw in my video card (left it unscrewed in case I needed to move it into another slot because the Vista installer was acting up), moved the front audio bay into another 5.25" bay, then booted up my computer. Vista then popped up a window that said a Multimedia Audio Controller was detected and my X-Fi stopped working. I uninstalled the drivers and tried to reinstall them, and I got the "setup was unable to detect a supported product on your system" error. Yes, onboard sound is disabled, don't ask me to disable it (though it was enabled when the card was working previously with no problems).

I've tried doing the following with no success:
- Reseating the card, re-plugging in connectors
- Moving the card to another slot
- Forced driver install (first time I tried it, Windoze said the device didn't have enough free resources to run, then I got IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL BSOD's when Catalyst Control Center loaded; all following times made Windoze say that the device couldn't start up)
- Command prompt "bcdedit /set CONFIGACCESSPOLICY DISALLOWMMCONFIG"
- Resetting CMOS

Oh, and for you people who are gonna say "buy another sound card", sure, as long as you buy it for me. :P

... YES, I re-disabled it. And read the thing I said about the X-Fi working before even though the onboard sound was enabled.

Bad Capacitors are a known issue with those cards .... it doesn't take much ...

I also just tried taking out the card, resetting the CMOS, letting Windows fully boot up to register that there's no sound card, then putting it back in. No success.

I have an SB live 24-bit. That happened to me once, but reseating the card to another slot fixed the problem.
