Default Overclock VisionTek HD3870 - ATT Benchmark

I've been playing around with the settings on my new HD3870 and using the latest beta of ATI Tray Tool to do some overclocking and fan control. Also, using the built-in Benchmark program I can readily see if there's any substantial improvement when applying the new settings. It's also wise to check for artifacting before doing the benchmarks and there has been no evidence of artifacting at all during this session.

At 850.5 Core/1224 Memory, the results are shown in the screenshot below. Notice that GPU Temp and Fan Speed also. One odd thing is that the Benchmark Window does NOT show the effective Core/Memory speeds. It only shows the Default speeds. However, check the image on the right for where the settings are during this test.

You can also see how this card compares to previous cards.

The newest ATT has an option for the "Fan Fix" you can choose for the 38xx series cards during setup.

well i mean if you want to get the fan working the way you want to without any software intervention.

i mean, i love what Ray has done and it works well but when it comes to my fan i'd much rather rely on the bios because software can take a shit on you when you least expect it...
