Default 7900GTO into GTX bios cant use find optimal clock settings

Hi to all. Last week I updated my PC, please find below the specifications of my new system. Got a little problem with the new BIOS (the EVGA e-GeForce 7900 GTX SuperClocked)... When I push the button search for the best clock settings it give me for 2 seconds a black screen. RivaTuner says to decrease frequency. Also when I push the button NVIDIA information driver update it gives me message can't find the application. When I changed it back to the GTO BIOS everything works normal. I hope that someone can help me with this...

System Specifications...
- ASUS M2NPV-MX (AM2 Socket) Mainboard
- AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+ Processor
- 2GB DDR2, 4x 512MB DDR2-667 Memory
- GeForce 7900 GTO (flashed into GTX) Card

From what i have found out about 7900 GTO vs 7900 GTX is to convince a GTO it is a real GTX involves more than just flasing the BIOS as Nvidia have there chips marked on die in some way, so at the very least your going to have to mod the .inf for the drivers as they check this when installing the drivers.

From my own reasearch the MSI 7900 GTO i have uses different volts to both core and mem than a stock 7900 GTX does, there both higher on mine. The GTO seems to use a completely different settings table (this is in the BIOS, mine is v3) especially for for mem latencys/timings they are set to be less aggresssive. This seems to have been done so you can push the OC on these cards futher than a GTX.
