Default My new comp not give the max??

Hello all,

I bought new comp (few things)

ASrock 775Dual-880Pro motherboard

Pentium D 2.8 Ghz Duel Core 820 FSB

1 GB DDR2 667 memmory

Sata HD 160GB

Well I installed all the stuff.. everything works properly..
I feel huge improvment from my 1.6 GHZ old comp.

But I think its not fast in games anoguh (FPS)

in game like AmericasArmy i get about 60-80 FPS

I forgot to mantion that I didnt buy new Video Card..

I have Radeon 9600 XT 256MB vivo video card.. its AGPx8

and 1 issue is that my procossor warm up to 70+- degrees in games
And regular temerature of 55 deg.
Is that ok temp? I asked in few places and few stores they said its well temerature for duel core processors..

In 3dMark06 I got about 600+-
I think its very poor result?!

Please help me, what do you think about all my problems, and if this the video card that push the system down..?

Well you should check your CPU heatsink/fan and try to reapply thermal paste. 70c is too high!
The Radeon 9600XT is very old now, you should get a better card if your not happy with it. And yes, your video card is pushing your system down.

hi
i have same mbo but with celeron 331 64bit
first download new bios and install it version 1.50 (site www.asrock.com.tw)
then go to bios
go to chipset setings and set ddr2 on 667 and shut down FLEXIBILITY OPTION(set to disabled)dont know why but this option is for shit its slows down pc
set up fast write to disabled
set agp ddr to 256mb
and go to cpu options and set off a automatic clock

p.s.for dual core cpus you need stronger psu and beter cooling for cpu

Your 12v rail is way too low, you need a new PSU ASAP.

Also, your 1st HD is too hot. If it hits 50c for any length of time it can physically warp your HDD platter. Gets some cooling for it or have a fan blowing on it.

As mentioned before you need better cooling for your CPU

Don't be too hard on yourself, the PSU is usually the last thing people think of when upgrading a system. You need at least a decent 450w PSU to properly power your system.

take hiper 480w or some thing beter
but watch out for PSU that is made just for dual core it have a diferent conectors for mbo(it have more pins)
hiper 480w or 500w is made for dual core cpus but it have a standard conectors for mbo(20+4)

p.s.asrock 775dual-880 pro have a standard(old) conectors
