Default OC attempts...

Ok, so I'm contemplating an overclock. My system is running really smoothly, but everything I've read about my components says that there is a lot more power to be had.

I played around with OCing before and it was successful. I ran a 2500 mobile chip running at 3.21 on air for over 3 years. I upgraded to my current system last summer, but I've yet to venture into the bios - until today.

The bios seems pretty straight forward, but it still sketches me out to start messing with the stock settings.

Where do I start?

Here is my system:

Asus P5Q
6gb kingston ram
Intel E8400
Nvidia 9800 GT
2 sata drives in raid 0
1 tb storage drive
1 500gb back up

Windows 7 - 64bit

Let me know what you think. I only have air cooling, so I'm assuming that there are limitations to what I can accomplish.

Thanks,

Marty

I'm not sure... Do you have any suggestions? I'd like to squeeze a little more power out of the cpu and gpu. Is there anything else that's worth trying?

OC'ing your cpu would be the smartest and most reward-full thing to do little to be gain from the gpu.

Ok, that's what I thought. Now the challenge is understanding the bios. It was a much simpler thing to do with previous mobos.
