Default Failing Water Pump :(

Well I guess I let the water in my liqiud cooled rig get a little low a little too many times. Starting last night the water pump is half way working. The way its sitting right now is on its side, seems to be working fine that way. But if I set it right side up, the way its been since I got it, it will not work heh.

I took it apart to clean it, only a little build up. I have had it for about a year now running almost non stop, so cant complain too much I guess. Btw its a Swiftech MCP655-B. Time to fork out some $ for a new one. I really need to swap the whole fluid out and go from 1/4" tubing to 1/2". This will be a good time to do it.

Pic comming soon......

If your water pump/fan fails and you aren’t around, who knows what could happen. But if you are using air-cooling and your fan fails, in many cases the passive heatsink could be enough to save the day. That’s why I recommend using heavy heatsinks with a large base.

"Heavy is good, heavy is reliable. If it doesn't work you can always hit them with it. I always go for reliability."

I wonder if you can find a rebuild kit for the pump? maybe try a different Coolant

My water cooling has worked fine for me sense 2006 only change the water 2 times. And my set has two pumps if one fails or if it gets to hot the computer will shut it self down.

Ps nice set up by the way.

Same here if the CPU reaches 60C the system will automatically shut down.

I see what you mean but water cooling or not computers can fail. Where I live a local business was all most burned down to the ground because his computer on his front desk caught on fire. If He hadn't came to work early that morning his business would have been ashes.

I also had one time I started up my computer a moth get sucked up by my rear 120mm fan. If I had not seen the moth fuzz and guts flying out the rear of the case the fan could have burned it self up.

if your worried about water leaking you could try this stuff http://www.xoxide.com/fluid-xp-extre...lant-blue.html

But water cooling can be very annoying if you want to change your water block.
