Default Strange OC with e8500

well here is my problem. if it is one. it's strange anyway.

So i went to the bios and set frequencys like this => 9.5 x 360.
Boot screen show 9.5x360 => 3.42GHz
No problem so far.

Once windows launch, i open CPU-Z and it show 9 x 360 ?? WTF
same with OCCT...

Core Temp is the only one which get 9.5x360.

So do you have any idee why 9.5 factor isn't detected !

My motherboard: Gigabyte X38 DQ6, bios F8 and vista64 SP1

There are two solutions-

a) the CPU has a max multi of 9 and the MOBO is detecting it wrongly
b) the MOBO is just plain detecting it wrongly

In both cases, look if you can flash your BIOS to a more recent version. I had the same issue with my hardware. It allowed me to set the +0.5 and it showed it in BIOS and POST, but to no avail.

WARNING

Look here for instructions how to *properly* flash a gigabyte board.
