Default Sapphire 1950Pro cooling

Well, received replacement for my old 1950pro
Sapphire 1950Pro 512mb
Now,with stock cooling I'm getting quite high temps,around 57c
I had an old Zalman's cooler on the card

Now I'm thinking to put Accelero S1 Rev. 2

Your opinion?

57c is not a high temperature for a video card, unless you're going to overclock I dont see a reason to use an aftermark cooler. My 6800Ultra(stock) idle temps are 63ºc and full load 68ºc.

It depends on the core (chip) on the card, some are hot others are not. Do some research on google to make sure then. By the way my 6800 Ultra is almost 2,5 years old and in the first year (before the zalman cooler + artic silver) it was running at ~68ºC idle and 80ºc full load that was damn hot.

Dangerous ? Rolf... are u kidding me ... with the stock cooler i was playing at fear and i reached 98 Celcius... one day without any artifacts and no issues... so 50-60 celcius... is quite good... (in the case full load... if it's idle ... we have an lil prob)

With my zalman vf-900 with the fan at low i reach about ... 49 celcius playing with stalker...it's overclocked.. and i have no issues...

Think is more something else in the card need to be cooled... like the gpu vrm (here i reach 60 celcius in idle without any cooling on it)... if you want my advice

I wouldn't make a thing of it. I had x1950 Sapphire my self and temps were about 60C... Not to mention my previous HD2900XT had65 idle and 75 load...heard some people had even 90+on HD2900XT so chill out Right now my CPU E8400 has 60C idle and when i touch cooling it's not warmer than my hand( Temp bug on E8xxx series)
