#1 | | Edelweiss Corporal | My new RIG. Help wit cooling. Im ordered main parts of my new rig today , they gonna come in 2 days.
When i was chosing parts for it ther was 3 factors i keeped in my head (discounted/promotion parts ; parts that can do OC ; money in hand)
So this is what i have picked:
CPU: Intel Pentium Dual Core E2160 1.8 GHz (S775) BOX
MOBO: Abit IP35-E
PSU: Corsair CMPSU-520HXEU - 520W
RAM: GeIL Dual 2x 1GB DDR2 800 MHz
GPU: Radeon X1950 Pro PowerColor 256MB TVHD / 2xDVI ArcticCooling
The question is , i wanna OC the CPU , im not into water cooling etc . I need air cooling. Any ideas ??

#3 | | (ಠ_ರೃ) | | CPU: 940 BE @ 3.62Ghz H2O | | | RAM: 2x2GB 1.1Ghz HyperX BE | | | PSU: Antec EarthWatts 500W | | http://www.arctic-cooling.com/cpu2.php?idx=79
this i would recomend it's cheaper then a zalman and performs great, as for the cpu overclock u can get like 3 ghz on it .....it's going to be a kick ass configuration i especially
like the x 1950pro great card! cheers on the rig bro

#4 | | Extreme Member | | GPU: Gainward Bliss 9600GT | | | RAM: 4G OCZ Reaper X DDR2 | | I have a Freezer 7 Pro here and actually was disappointed with the mounting and especially the lack of flexibility on mounting the cooling fan. The fan is unidirectional and can't be reversed either physically because of the mounting system or electrically because it is PWM and not analog (phasing).
I picked up a Scythe Katana2 as recommended by Drake(steakn) a while ago and it cools the Celerons quite nicely which usually run a lot hotter than the new Intel Duos and Quads. It supports everything including 775 and AMD CPU's for the 30 bucks I paid for it quite happy. The fan can be reversed by one simple Phillips setscrew and mounting is a breeze. Also much like the Duo Orb CPU cooler just reviewed it also takes into consideration chipset and RAM cooling with angled heatsink pieces. I haven't seen many decent reviews on this and have another cooler I am looking at as well but for the price you can't beat it.
I posted pics of this cooler on this thread was installed on my Prescott which I got to 3.7G stable before the chipset on the cheap crap ASrock board crapped out.

Pictured the Katana2 and Freezer 7 Pro showing fan orientation and mounting.

#6 | | Extreme Member | | GPU: Gainward Bliss 9600GT | | | RAM: 4G OCZ Reaper X DDR2 | | It depends on the case and setup too I never really had cooling issues with the freezer just fan flow and flexibility. On the upgrade cool stuff and can't wait til ya get it finished Bro
Just curious on the price of the X1950 though Bro. Its nice as it has the X1 cooler which performs close to the S1 I have on mine but is only 256M. The Sapphire X1950 Pro 512 is selling for about 120 bucks CAD and the Accelero S1 is around 30 dollars ... would you not get more by buying the Sapphire and S1 and tossing the crappy Sapphire cooler ?
Depends on price like I say but can't really see buying a 256M X1950 when 512M HD3850's are down around 200 bucks CAD right now.
