when you enter bios press CTRL+F1 and you will open advanced options in bios
than just rise fsb and set multiplier lower than normal
dont play with voltage because you can burn ddr and cpu
try to get proper cooling like zalman 9700

once i replace the stock heatsink I will OC the poop out of mine, just as a test I did 400x8 with RAM at 1:1 and default voltages and it booted and ran smooth but too warm with the stock heatsink for my taste

holy shit i replaced the stock heatsink with a AC Freezer 7 Pro and took 30c off the both idle and load temperatures.

Now running with 400MHz FSB and 8x multiplier (3200 MHz) with my RAM set to 1:1 ratio and my idle temps are just over 30c

Damn, the Q6600 G0 is such a blast. Currently clocked at 3.9Ghz.

lol 16 degree on air cooling?
that unrealistic, you cant cool it further than the temp in your room, which is usually ~25 degree...
check your values in bios!
NOTE: said 16 degree here too, but actually it was way more! (30 instead of 15...)

That's true (Unless you're living in Siberia). Probably the software reading is false, I've heard that SpeedFan is having such issues.
