Learn how to overclock before using anykind of program. Most of software that you use inside your OS (Operational System) wont give you good results(most of them cant control memory dividers). There are a lot of overclocking threads around here in the forum you can learn with them.

The recommended way to overclock your system is using your Motherboard BIOS. Always remember to have the right cooling system to ensure that your system wont fry.

Some links:

http://www.ngohq.com/overclocking-co...11726-how.html

Overclocking is NOT a 100% safe method to improve performance, IT INCREASES the speed your hardware's life degradation. You should really know what are you doing and assuming the risks.

And those lines you see when playing games with a overclocked video card are called artifacts, it means your card is overheating or starting to.

If your going to try overclocking you need to use your BIOS and not third party software programs as xiaomhome mentioned. It depends on your mobo on resetting and you might want to obtain more info on your mobo with a program like SIsandra available in our files section here for DL to help.

Googled this as well not sure if it helps
How do I reset a BIOS password?

Now on overclocking be careful of your temps and your cooling and under no circumstances push anything to the point of lockup. If your BIOS allows it it is more desirable to change your multiplier than your FSB. Some boards use a locked multiplier like mine and you have to use better RAM and cooling to compensate for increasing your FSB. Increasing your FSB not only increases your CPU frequency but everything else on that bus including your RAM, Chipset, IDE cards ... hard drives .. everything. Be VERY careful playing with FSB settings.

On cooling your viddy card I have seen a fan used on the heatsink no sense going to crazy with it as the cost might warrant a new card.

Hope this helps you out a bit

Sorry to say, but a 2000+ is ancient now and it's not by overclocking it that you will get good performance, some thing for video card. If your going to start to spend some extra money for coolers and things for your components well then its just not worth it.
