Its a good PSU, but since the hd2900pro has a 6pin and an 8 pin, i would look for a PSU that has this connector to enable optimized overclocking.

Check out the 'Enermax' web site they have a lot of good stuff on which power supply you need. I know I've just been through the same experience and finding answers is difficult to say the least.

Let us know how you get on and I'll be happy to share my own experiences.

thanks for the info.. but i decided to use my old psu raidmax500W the saphire 2900pro camed with 2 extra 6 pin convertors now the card is powered using them.. i don't have overdrive enabled but i oc'd it using rivatuner way above XT i chose to buy a new cpu instead of a psu, the old 3800+ x2 was bottlenecking like a mofo

My PSU supports two frickin 2900XTs or whatever in crossfire. I can't imagine how I would use all that power. Maybe I should force it to do the dishes.

Corsair makes some nice affordable stuff too not sure about Unix's dishes but after Chaos suggested this series to me the HX-520 does everything I need. There is an upper model as well might need to go to that for power consumption if I go with a Phenom

(Sorry Unix couldn't resist Bro LOL)

Welcome to Corsair :: HX Power Supply Product Information

Corsair PSUs are ROCK SOLID. They are really kick ass and i have never heard of a complaint on any of their units. Zamoldac, 500 w is enough, but i don't trust Raidmax too much and for the longevity of your components i would still go with that Thermaltake unit.
