Hi,
DirectX 9.0c file:

Just download microsft dx setup, it will autodetect your DX version and will update it to the lastest version.

--> Dont want to install that spy-sw.
I found the version of 02.2007 - redit, thats the actual one.

Thx,
Worf

I just have got an (old but free) official students version of XP professional - just installed.

Where can i see, what version or date of release a directX 9.0c file is?
Thx,
Worf
Start Menu, Run, type "dxdiag" (dont use quotes) press enter. For SP version right click on my computer -> properties.

Not sure but i think you ll need SP1 to install SP2.

Red face directX 9.0c and bios-update

Oh, i meant how do i recognice the date/version of directX 9.0c on the downloadfiles in the net!?

And to bios:
My Asus MB P5W PCX 775 offers the option with asus-update to look for bios-update.
Changing of bios-outfits should be possible too, but is not my intention - only to update.
Is that recomended - or where can i get biosupdate (Version AMI Bios 1395 of 28.8.06 i've got now; newest should be 16.02 ) German version

Thx!!

Ad 1. I installed SP1, then hotfixes between SP1 and 2 till 1.17, then SP2, then hotfixes till 2.19. XP-system then only shows SP2 and later updates for deinstalling, so i think, SP2 replaces SP1 and would be sufficient.

Ad 2. here a link to directX 9.0c as direct DL, if someone else needs:

does no one read the release notes on programs...

YO DO NOT NEED TO INSTALL SP1 IF YOU ARE INSTALLING SP2 AS SP2 CONTAINS ALL THE CUMULATIVE UPDATES

basically that means it already contains all the updates that make up SP1 and the updates between sp1 and sp2
