CPU: Intel E6700 @ 3.2 GHz
GPU: HD 4770 512 GDDR5
M/B: MSI P45 Neo F (Rev. 1)
RAM: 8 GB Dual Channel DDR2
PSU: 1000W Ultra X3
Default

Something to consider before making some drastic changes:

1. Determine how the video card is powered. Are you using any Y-splitters off the PSU that are also powering high-demand devices....HDDs, Fans, etc? If so, isolate the video card from the other devices and use the Y-splitter/s for other devices. Make sure that the video card is being powered off a separate 'trunk' from the PSU.

2. OR, simply unplug any unnecessary devices temporarily to determine for sure whether the PSU is at fault.

3. You say you've tested the hardware. How long since you ran MemTest86 on your RAM? I had some faulty Kingston RAM over a year ago that was causing all kinds of mayhem with my then current system. Getting better quality RAM worked wonders!

If you can get Corsair or OCZ, you can't go wrong.

I'm presently using Mushkin for the very first time. So, I really can't give you a recommendation on it.

All I know is that Kingston gave me some serious problems and is the first to do so in ages. I'm hearing from others that there's a reason it's usually cheaper and easily found in the low-end retail stores.

So DDR2 shows no problems in memtest but the system crashes when you try to use if afterwards and DDR is totally stable always?
If you've got any friends take your pc to them and try it with their PSU.

The bad experience you had with the Thunderbird made you buy an Intel and now you're facing problems because of its high power drain.
