I've tried using Ghost, and have never had much luck. The advantage of it (when it works) over other "cloning" software is that it automatically adjusts the partition size to the new hard drive size. I would do a windows repair on the new install, that should fix it without losing your data...

it's not that easy ...
I also had same problem when I migrated from an 200Gb WD to an 250Gb Maxtor

the thing is that windows xp (when you create the partition for the os with the boot cd) it leaves a nonpartitioned space about 4-8Mb
that free space contains something related to the install and it can not be copied by ghost

HDClone that I mentioned earlyer copies sectors not files

Well, that would explain why I've never had good luck with it then lol. Thanx for the info kind sir!!! Wouldn't a repair fix that though? Just curious... Actually, I'm upgrading my wife's drive from a 60 to a 160 tomorrow morning. Was gonna just do a new install, but maybe I'll try Norton's and see if the repair works... I'll let you know...

Seagate disk wizard works for me for cloning drives to a new size.

...you just have to enter repair console and reset the bootfile thats all :P
