Enjoy. | I agree that the games out now that is supposed to be "multi" games and apps, dont use both cores. Some of them. And i agree they do over exaggerate about our need of multicore´s now to sell more. But if developers would really start to use multithreading, then the cores would be utilized. But even if a program is multithreaded, doesnt mean both cores will be att 100%. Thats a common mistake that many believe. The problem is Windows XP. It doesnt make use of full multithreading... That is why Vista and DX10 will do a big change in this. So just wait and see... you can stay with youre cpu, and fool youre self you dont get a boost in performance. But its all about the OS. IF the OS doesnt utilize it well, well of course it wont work 100%..

not more not less
but i dont give a damn about it
i have been suprised with stability of vista 64 rc1
its run much beter than a vista 32 rc1
(p.s. on 32 bit vista i get a 0.0 no comment on that) |

| My cpu is dual core so it will get the boost or not whether I fool myself or not!!

I am just getting a sense that you are one of those who maybe upgrade every 2-3 years?? Am i right? I was referring to 4core processors. Those you cant even use in XP. That atleast tells me that XP is very limited in its code. And im not sure Vista will be much better at retail, but after some hotfix´s and SP´s, maybe Vista will work in its fullest potential. Im atleast hoping.. But Multithreading does give a boost, its all about who programmed the code and how well they did it.
I think many who hype multithreading like "This game will use 1463 hardware threads in the same time" those guys are just full of BS, and those are propably been paid off by Intel/AMD to boost sales. You are 100% right about that, just look at BF2. I know many many people who upgraded systems just for that one game. And AMD/Intel know this ofcourse, and of course they take advantage of it.. they would be bad businessmen if they didnt.. You have to sort out the gold from the BS. Just Look at this preview!! And this isnt even final...
Sorry for OT.

Now, if we can just get people to post the scores and not so much unrelated material.

I don't know whether this is good or not, what I know is that Vista has a long way ahead before it's final. On idle situations with no program open, it uses 800MB of RAM just for breakfast. |
