Question programs on Startmenu empty

does anybody know why this would be empty ? here's a pic of what it looks like and there are no recent/favourite programs on the startmenu.

I have "number of startmenu Programs" set to 7 I've tried changing this, I just can't work out why it's blank. Is there some service or regestry key that controls this as it's a fairly usefull option for me.

Thanks

You can clear your recently run programs by right clicking the taskbar and going to properties, then the start menu tab, then customise then advanced, someone may have done that to hide something mayhaps...

I've started about 30 different programs/games from the list to check this out and nothing turns up there

hrmm, maybe their is a corruptions in your recently used programs file folder. reboot, log on as a different user, delete said folder, and reboot, see if that fixes it.

http://www.theorica.net/safexp.htm Download this program (don't worry great application, no spyware and free. I use it to disable a lot of unneeded junk) and mess around with the settings in the remove from start menu section perhaps?

I just checked and on first tab in taskbar properties there are 2 boxes at bottom. One is store and display recent files and other is for recent programs if this is not ticked then no other settings will have any effect. Just check to make sur and, yes, unticking the programs box will remove recent programs list. Of course I now have to build mine up from scratch again now...ah well
