it soudns like you had spyware on your machine when you installed SP2
i would suggest, rolling back to sp1, clearing all spyware, then using a windows disk that has been slipstreamd with sp2 to do a repair install (which will also update to sp2) |

It is a fresh installation of Win XP and SP2 slipstreamed which
supplied by MS ,which cannot be downgraded to SP1 .
The problem appears after changing the Remote Procedure Call (RPC) service logging-on
from using NT Authority to Local System account . |
