Question Windows XP SP2 problem with WMI

Hello ,
Do you people experienced with the Windows XP Pro problem after
installing SP2 , such as installing programs, Windows shell or MS Office
problems with objects ? To solve these , I change the RPC service to be
activated from NT Authority user to Local System , but after that
I get problem to access WMI configuration properties with 'access denied'
messages .
Does anybody recognize this issue ?

10x .

it sounds like you need to install format and install SP2 fresh

i would slipstream SP2 into the XP install cd and do a fresh install...

oh erm...

try disabling DEP by changing /noexecute=optin to /execute in the boot.ini then restarting

DEP prevents some wmi access

it soudns like you had spyware on your machine when you installed SP2

i would suggest, rolling back to sp1, clearing all spyware, then using a windows disk that has been slipstreamd with sp2 to do a repair install (which will also update to sp2)

No , it's not spyware ... it's steady problem on many workstations .
It is a fresh installation of Win XP and SP2 slipstreamed which
supplied by MS ,which cannot be downgraded to SP1 .
The problem appears after changing the Remote Procedure Call (RPC) service logging-on
from using NT Authority to Local System account .
