Default Windows 7 Privacy?

Well I was reluctant to set up Windows 7 due to driver issues and the fact that it would change my vista to drive D: from drive C:

Thankfully having 2 hard drives and can chop and choose and thankfully both drives letters are the same and revert to c:, in my opinion from a quick glance, Windows 7 is FAST yes, efficient YES, but there is a lot I don’t like, first of all been the fact that your desktop icons disappear, second that everything you do is monitored in event viewer, all you settings are recorded and checked, no option to switch to classic look, Windows 7 is designed for the NOOBS, everything is monitored and you need a tweak program such as Windows 7 tweak manager to alter these settings, no option to change the user account controls as you could in vista, constant driver issues, especially with wireless modems.

YES there has been much praise for Windows 7, but come on, is there any privacy left at all, if you are an advanced user like me, you will soon discover that Windows 7 is monitoring everything you do, everything you execute, everything you install, it’s like a virtual camera, as we all know this virtual recording takes up immense resources, the number of services enabled in 7 is immense you need at least 2GB to load windows 7 without lag, and have you noticed it won’t allow invalid extensions to be executed unless it knows exactly what program the extension belongs to, e.g.: .flv or .mpg etc.

OK I have only used it for a short while, but did we really want a NOOBS OS, what as happened, is that Microsoft have designed the perfect OS for the NOOBS amongst us, it’s so user-friendly, and guess what! As it is monitoring everything you do, if anything goes wrong it will tell you before you even know anything is wrong, it will even re-direct you to Microsoft help ARRRRR aint that sweet.

But why cannot they design an OS already tweaked without all the un-needed services, without all the background surveillance & much more, it makes me wonder if PC and internet user have any privacy at all with windows 7, the accelerators are great yes, its boots quick yes, but why can’t we use our PC without the OS monitoring our every key-stroke, every mouse move and so on.

You cannot change to classic, you are limited to what security modules you can disable, it’s just not-on, even though its good, USER SHOULD ALYWAYS HAVE UNLIMITED CHOICE without having to install additional tweak programs such as Windows 7 or Vista Manager.

In my opinion Windows 7 is so user friendly, is just taking up far too many resources. All this NOOB design, just in-case the NOOBS make a mess of their setup it will restore it to pristine condition, is spoiling it for the rest of the advanced users amongst us, who want to tweak, change and set settings as we know to be the best, what works best for games, what works best for program execution etc, we don’t want a pop-up window saying we are not allowed to do this, as it may jeopardise our security etc, we want to have choice, whether its changing to classic, or disabling all the non-needed security modules within windows, because most of them are about as much use as a chocolate fireguard.

Some of you will agree, some of you won’t, but in my opinion Microsoft have designed the perfect noobs OS, they forgot about all us advanced users & gamers who just love to tweak windows to the max and squeeze higher frame rates in games, those of us who like to change settings and actually know where the services are located and what every service actually does, but NO they designed the OS for NOOBS, of course we was all noobs at one point but come-on, did we really want a virtual camera checking everything we do, is there really any privacy left for PC users I ask you?

The good news is Windows 7 is fast, but disable superfetch folks and see how fast it is then, oh and btw you are all expressing how fast it is now, just wait 6 months, see how fast it takes to boot then because many of you noobs will have superfetch enabled and in 6 months time it’s going to get slower and slower and even slower, SUPERFECTH is giving you noobs an illusion of FAST execution & FAST boot times at the moment, when in truth if you was an advanced user you would notice that the fast executions, fast boot time etc was taking up an additional 1GB of you memory in some instances more.

Yes its looks great, yes its loads fast (for now) and yes it hides all your icons great, but just remember that BIG BROTHER Is watching every mouse move & keystroke you make with Windows 7.

For me I shall wait, I have tried and reverted back to a modified, highly tweaked vista SP2 which loads 4 seconds faster than default Windows 7, I shall upgrade when Microsoft Office 2010 comes out and the Windows 7 tweak programs have been finalised, and the driver and games issues have been ironed out, until then I shall enjoy Vista SP2, at least it’s not monitoring my every move and I do have the option of disabling user account control.

Come On Guys what do you think? Was User Account Control the worst thing ever? If you did not disable it, it would ask you every time you executed something if it was OK to be executed, was it not the most annoying security module ever? at least in vista we did have a choice of disabling this most annoying module, we are not thick, we would not execute something if we did not want to, but the window would pop up anyway, (another noobs security module) which not only made some games & programs not work it was most annoying, at to think some people have it enabled all the time WHOD HAVE THUNK IT. But Law and Behold the user Account Control is back in Windows 7, now you can’t disable it, you can’t just change a setting or 2, which makes no difference whatsoever its still going to monitor everything you do HOORAY, let’s all use around 1-2GB of un-needed security modules LOL. --------------- NO Thanks anyway I best go before I start speaking about DEP.

Good Luck with your Windows 7 Installations Guys and All the Best, it would be interesting to hear your opinions?
