#12 | | Newbie | are those 1gb 8800gt's?. you have 4gb xp can read, 1gb is not used its part of windows itself, just say XP 32 can only see 3gb total. You see 1.49gb of ram. So ram is comming off the GPU's also. so take out one of the 8800's and your ram size will increase but its time to move on to a new OS.

GTA IV and crysis did perform slightly better in windows 7(relaese candidate), by 2-3 frames only. Not tested on my computer. |

It's been out for a few months already. I've been using it since ... what was it, May or June???
Or, do you mean the Official Release on October 22?

Anyway shellofinsanity was right it was my 2 8800 gt that were taking up my ram. I don't use xp for gaming anymore I use vista ultimate x64 for gaming I just use xp for old games that do not run well or at all on a x64 os Like hero's of ww2 turok 2 unreal ect. And xp is a nice back up if vista were to quit and i needed my computer. |

This is off topic but is 45c too hot for a hard drive. |

I also have 6 HDDs stacked in the racks and the hottest one runs about 38C idle. That is, it's a storage drive. My system drive is running 37C at the moment.
I would say that 45C is not excessive if there's a lot of activity going on with the drive. But, do check for adequate cooling and airflow over and around the drive to see if you can bring it down any.
