"Swap displays" in Windows 7 and x1250 IGP I have an HTPC running an ASUS M2A-VM HDMI board (690G chipset, x1250 IGP).
I tried to install Windows 7 beta 64bit on my HTPC, after upgrading to 4GB of RAM. It just gave me a white screen when the built in or the latest ATI driver was loaded... Unusable.
Later I reinstalled the 32bit version, everything worked smoothly except I could only install Catalyst 9.1, anything newer would fail to install the display driver.
Now my HTPC has a TV connected through S-Video and a CRT monitor through VGA.
The IGP can only output to one of them at one time.
In XP I used the built into CCC "Display swap" feature, where it would simply switch between TV and monitor by disabling one of them and activating the other.
This feature no longer works in Windows 7.
I've also tested some 3rd party programs like ATi Tray Tools. I assume this may be a compatibility issue with Win7 because when I go to "Adjust Screen Resolution" dialog and change the out display from there it works.
I even updated the BIOS to the latest on ASUS's website
I need a hot-key to switch between the displays. I've tried every driver version available. I also tried to install CCC from 9.3, and the option there was removed completely!
I tried different "automation" programs to no avail. Is there a solution to this issue?
Any help and suggestions are appreciated.
I really hope that ATi and Microsoft fix this issue in the upcoming release of their software. |
