If you are stuck with a slow Desktop/Laptop that cannot handle Windows XP, Vista and new Linux operating systems, you may want to try Xubuntu. I am using it myself with my Laptop since its too bloody slow and low on RAM and its great. It is great for laptops since it improves battery lifetime by using low resources and still offers decent GUI and the latest software.
