Default Router No Longer Shows Up in Network Devices

I've been trying to find a solution to this recent development without success. Here's the deal:

Ever since installing Vista, I've been able to right click the Network icon in the Taskbar, select the Network and Sharing Center, then select the View computers and devices option.

The next screen would then show all the computers on the network that are connected AND it would also show the router. This device wasn't actually labeling the name of the router (which is Link-Sys Wired/Wireless) but it would show as a High Speed Internet device. I can't remember exactly the label it was putting on it.

BUT, for several days now I've noticed that I cannot see....nor can I restore....this device to the computers and devices option. What was nice about this was I could right click on the device and see what services/operations were being run and, if I wanted to, I could delete or remove those services right there.

So, my question is: How do we go about restoring this device to show up in the list of computers and devices? (I remember a similar situation developing under XP and it was something that was changed due to a Windows Update. Removing the Update restored the listing to its previous state.)

Appreciate any help.

Try restarting the device might help and try System Restoring(or however it is called in English). Look over MS help you might find something useful there.

I had already done that and turned on a couple of services I thought would fix it. Would you know specifically which service/s to work with?

EDIT and UPDATE: Nevermind. We had to do a total reset of the network and the device finally started showing up again.... Residential Gateway Device.
