Even if you walk the pirate's path you can't fix that horrible OS. The only information I'd like to send to Microsoft is "Get off your lazy a***s and build a decent OS!".

First post here though been an NGO driver user for many years 
Installed vista four or five times now and each try has been worse than the last with the inevitable HDD wipe and back to my tweaked 181MB XP Pro install 
And to think they actually charge for this rubbish
