Vista 64 & Media player 11

Can anyone tell me me why the latest version of media player i got with Vista x64 will not download and play videos from the net. I can surf the web fine but when i try to dowload and watch a video on media player it tells me that i am not connected to the internet and takes me to a blank page!

This is weird as the demo videos work and i can watch dvd's o.k but it wont let me watch videos from the net at all.

Check if your settings on your media player are ok(about internet options)

Thanks for the help. I did try that but it still wouldn't work. Due to various registry/ uninstallation problems i had to reformat my hardrive and reinstall Vista and now evertything seems to be working just fine!
