i've recently been testing this, as i
thought that they might have fixed the crap that was in Msn Desktop search.
how wrong i was.
They have Separated all the parts into downloadable modules, so if you won't want Tabbed browsing, you don't have to install it.
my major qualms are these
With the Msn Desktop pack installed, it would prevent Msn Explorer from launching Windows Live Messenger.
With the Weather module installed it would cause a high cpu idle, which means the more pages you have open, the higher the idle.
Tabbed browsing is still a crappy implementation. also causing high cpu time (when compared to the yahoo tabbed browsing,... which is also crap, but doesn't cause these cpu idle usage)
the anti Phising filter,.. im not entirely sure, but i believe it or the toolbar itself was causing IE to completely lockup when i closed a page causing that window to still be present and eating up memory (it would also occasinally cause a mass of ie windows to open when you close a page)
the games module - i found this totally useless and didn't really link me to any fun games at all.
the live favourites module - i found this caused alot of issues when trying to clear my temp files using System mechanic 5, as it would load IE and then lock it up when its sposed to clear the cache etc.
the bar itself, has no support for search sites other then the US and England, you can't turn the search filter off. and it for now is just a waste of space.
i sincerely hope the next msn or live toolbar has these issues fixed.
otherwise its just going to be another useless MSN product that no one wants, or uses.. hence.. a waste of money.
Danial.
