Are you even reading??? Your DNS is where the connection is coming from: if its coming from your computer then YOUR computer is the DNS resolver. If its not your computer its either the wireless adapter or your modem.

* Enable Internet connection sharing on your internet adapter.
* In Wii setup the gateway and DNS server as 192.168.0.1.
* If you want me to take a look, install UltraVNC or Radmin.

Thanks rege, internet sharing seemed to have been the missing link, works like a charm now

forgoet the 50$ router or the 40$ intendo branded usb adapter that does the same thing, my 5$ doohikey works! lol

So what i had to do was this:
Enable internet sharing
In the tcp/ip options of the wireless connection i:
Gave it an Ip of 10.0.0.1
subnet mask of 255.255.0.0
gateway of 192.168.0.1
DNS: Primary 192.168.0.1 under secondry enter the IP address of your ethernet adapter as shown in ipconfig
on the wii:
ip: 10.0.0.2
subnetmask: 255.255.0.0
default router: 10.0.0.1
Dns primary:10.0.0.1 secondary the same as you made the secondary in the tcp/ip

Had to do this with the dns servers because it would pass the connection test but fail if you tried to get the user agreements, these settings made it work perfectly

so there you go, my usb adapter wii internet saga is over and for anyone that's having the same issue there is the solution

Thanks to everyone that helped me out, cheers!

EDIT: wow once you know what numbers to use this works quite nicly, just got my printer/fax connected over it without any problems at all
