It's beneficial to be neutral or loner until you are about to enter limansk. At that time you'll be better off joining a faction so you can recieve their equipment (not just the free stuff) and take advantage of their mechanic (perhaps this sentence needs rephrasing).

I'm wondering why you finished Mass Effect in one night. The side quests themselves would take several days. Anyway I just finished it. For a console port and despite being riddled with all kinds of glitches, the disastrous inventory interface and several more minor issues this was f**king good!

One can only wonder how much better it would have been if it had been developed properly and for the PC first.

In case anyone's wondering, there's to paths you can take in this game. Either you're a p***y or a d**k and I chose the latter.

I heard it has more annoying-and-useless-cutscenes then gameplay. Is it true?

it's astonishing really, about an hour of cinematics i'd guess.

yes, it's almost more movie than game and the cutscenes are actually a break from the boring combat scenarios.

gameplay is sorta like rainbow six vegas but with "sticks and rocks" weapons and the same arena over and over and all you can do with your squad, nine men total, is reposition them three at a time and tell them to focus fire on a target.

a couple of times you get to ride in a tank but it's totally lame, nowhere near as cool as the tank action in crysis...

If it's even slightly worse than tank action in crysis then it must truly suck.
