Default Driver Recommendaion

This is my first post so I hope it is in the right place.. I am running the system below and have tried multiple drivers, both NGO and NVidia, and continue to have issues with one particular game, i.e., Tiger Woods gold by EA Sports. I get constant ripping of the active player (triangular shaped spikes that rip across the screen from the edge of the players outline. This is the only game I have this issue with.

Anyne have similar problems or any suggestions of a driver that might address this?

My system specs:

DFI LP UT SLI DR Expert (Bios 0406)
AMD X2-4200@2.5
G.Skill F1-4000B1U2-2GBHV
2 Leadtek PX7800's in SLI
2 Enermax Liberty 620w PSU's

Thanks for your help.

Ok, we will add to the mystery. Both GPU's are 7800GT Extremes that have stock clocks of 450/1050, if I underclock them to 400/1000 the problem goes away.

I don't have an NV card or drivers installed here but you are experiencing "artifacts" usually caused by O/Cing the Viddy RAM or GPU too much. Noted you are using stock clocks ....

If this issue only appears with that game I would suggest looking for patches or updates .... should not be getting artifacts using stock clocks with any driver NV or NGOHQ ...

Cheers

I agree. I can play any other game with no issues. It seems to be a problem with EA and dual cores. Have installed all available patches with no effect.

Thanks for the help.

Most welcome Bro and lets hope EA addresses that issue .... dual cores are becoming quite common and should be compatible with software

You can control the number of cores assigned to a process through the Task Manager (rt.click on the process -> set affinity (bottom option)).

This only appears on multiple core / processor computers though.

Perhaps even vsync. You will have to change it to application controlled in the nv display settings, and then turn it on in the program. That may help you. I have noticed ea in particular needs vsync (nhl, nfl, fifa). Just like their autorun / installer needs Win2K Compatability enabled to get past DirectX9 most the time. I cannot explain it!

BTW. I have noticed these issues while using a SingleCore 3200+ / DualCore FX60 with a 6800GT / 7600GT.
