Default Problem With My 6200 Card and 1.93.81 Drivers

Every 90 series driver has been bad for my Nvidia 6200 PCI card. Not only do they not run my computer and games very quickly the video playback is non-existent. What used to happen was I would get sound but no video and the player, no matter what player I was using, would run at almost 99% CPU usage causing my computer to run at a snail's speed. I know it's not my codecs because I always stay up to date with the K-Lite Codec Packs.

I really like NGO's optimized 1.93.81 Nvidia drivers because my games and my computer run a lot faster. The problem is still with video playback. Every player I have, besides ProDVD, will freeze when I run it because of the high CPU usage forcing me to restart but computer every time I try to run anything with video. But audio works just fine. In fact, right now I'm listening to music on Jet Audio and everything is working just fine. But as soon as I play something with video in it my computer will freeze up. As soon as I switch back to hte drivers prior to the 85.96 drivers (so far the 84.25's being the best) videos will work fine on my computer but I won't get the same overall performance I get with the 1.93.81 drivers. Does anyone know of a solution to my problem so I won't have to revert back to the 84.25's?

I suggest the following (assuming that ur OS - which u didn't mention - is Windows XP SP2)

1) In safe mode, uninstall the grafx driver completely, then reboot then come back 2 the same safe mode and uninstall the k-lite codec pack, then do a registry scan with utilities like "registry first aid" to scan for any errors in the registry and fix them.

2)Start installing the latest version of the NGO driver

3)Start installing the latest codecs of k-lite (i personally recommend "ffdshow" instead of k-lite codec coz the first is fewer in size and offers almost the same as what is offered by the k-lite (unless u want to encode video files and not just decode 'em so in that case, u'd better stick with k-lite codecs as it contains encoders)

4) Good Luck!!!

and do not forget 2 post back if u r lucky with these steps 2 see what else we can do 4 u.

BYE!

CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo P8600
GPU: Nvidia GF9400+9600M GT
M/B: Apple MacBookPro v5.1
RAM: 2x2Gb Samsung/Mac DDR3
PSU: 85w MagSafe External
Default

And once you have downloaded the Ngo drivers, you will notice that the official ones suck big time
