Default all my videos playback with an awful quality

hi guys,

i got recently a vaio laptop with a geforce go 7600. After formatting, i noticed that all my videos play with a very bad quality, as if they were heavily compressed. all my videos were ok in my previous laptop... i've installed the latests drivers from this site,, but the problem is still occuring. i really dont know what to do else....please help!

You say that your videos were ok before you formated? Did you ever think you ever deleted your codecs?

i meant in my previous computer they were ok. i formated my new computer right after i bought it cause the os was in another language. i installed many codecs with no luck.

download a media player called VLC, try ya vids on that or another good player is democracy player, on the nvidia site you can get a trial of their software,jus some suggestions.

Install Klite codec pack, and make sure to configure your codecs.

thanks for your replies. However, the quality of my videos remains afwful no matter the player i use, even with vlc, or if i unistall all my codecs and use k-lite,...My videos have awfull quality only when i play my videos on fullscreen. I begin to think my nvidia card is not working properly....

This might seem like a really dumb question but due to the process of elimination I have to ask it .... what is your resolution and colour depth set too in display properties / settings ?

Had too ask ... other than that not really sure mate drivers and codecs have been well covered on this thread *shrugs*

no problem! My resolution is 1280x800 and 32 bit optimal colors.

What is the screen size and specs for this new laptop ?

1280x800 and 32 bit optimal colors seems a bit heavy for a laptop No ?

it's a 15.4 wide screen display. I bought this computer with this resolution. When i reinstall the drivers, this resolution is automatically selected.
