Default a big thanks to NGO Team!

Guys,

you saved my lan party of easter! Here the story:
I upraded my pc with a 7800gs a few weeks ago. Before I had a x800 and played C&C Generals for weeks without a glitch. So my main concern for the lan, was to win the C&C Generals tournee.
In the weeks before the lan, I tested C&C only once with my 7800gs but dont remember which driver I was using. So I thought I am ready for the lan. A few days before the lan, new beta drivers came out the 84.3x and the 84.4x. I installed them and thought newer drivers always better. Installed the latest beta driver, tested BF2 + 3dmark and everything was ok.

So I went to the lan and started C&C and voila, my pc went into standby right a few seconds after the intro! Then the pure horror began. I thought my pc was broken because I had constant standby modes in all kind of different games. I tried these driver:
all non modified:
84.43
84.30
84.26
84.25
84.21
84.20
84.19

none fixed!!! I thought I ruined my lan for the next 3 days. After 24 hours of reseting bios, drivers and all kind of different setting, I thought I might give the ngo 84.25 drivers a chance again.

Now sit back, I installed the drivers and C&C just run fine without a single problem! No standby modes again!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you! I already wanted to gave up and throw this freaking 7800gs away.

by the way, I won the tournament

Same story here. A lot of trouble trying to have my XFX 7800GS extreme edition to do what I expectd it to do. Could not runBF2, Aquamark3, 3dmark06 or whatever before downgrading it to 390@1200 MHz.

Upgraded from an ATI 9800XT and did everything in the right order. Removed my hardware in the " official" winXP way and even ran driver cleaner before I installed the drivers for my new card.

I was in conatct with XFX support and upgraded my PSU, fromatted my drive and installed everyting from scratch. Removed additional (audigy card e.g.) PCI cards.
Nothing!

When I was able to run e,g, the 3dmark06 benchie by underclocking my drivers I noticed that in the overview it didnot list my clock and memory speeds of my card.

When I installed the NGO optimized river based on 84.26 all troubles are gone!
The best score downgrading my card was 2910 and now 3225 overclocking even to 468@1350!!!!! Now it also shows my clcock and memory speeds on the project details page.

Can play BF2 for a whole day now with settings I always dreamed of (1600x1200 with half of the options high and 4x AA, high texture filtering).

I thought the secret was the latency tool but when I started it, it gave the timings that where advised (64 ms), so I didnot change anaything.

I always thought it had something to do with timings, but now I am not so sure.

What is your secret??? Not really important actually but you bet you saved my day!
In your favor for ever!

i also had a same problem here...
i can't OC my Leadtek 7800gs with many version of nvidia official or beta driver... even OC the 5mhz of GPU or MEM clock, when i run 3D mark 05, then will get the "Blank screen" , or play some game after 5~10 min.... but if no oc, everytings fine....

after i try NGO driver (84.25).. now the problem gone.... and can oc to 420/1300 without any "Blank screen" ....
and many thanks to NGO.....
by the way.... why nvidia driver can't oc ??

anyway.. thanks...
