Default Anyone still using GF7600GT?

Which driver are you using now? Mine is classic 93.71 from nvidia.
And at least for game before 2007 it's ok, I'm playing cod2, cod4 and Mount&Blade recently.

But i played some of the latest games like cod5 and silent hill 5, I know 7600GT should have the ability to cover them, but it crashed when i got to cernain scenes.

Well, I do not know the lastest driver fit for 7600GT, so i just conservatively keep 93.71, for fear that new drivers may cause performance drop since they are not designed for old graphic cards.

So do you have any experience or suggestion on this? Thx for telling me!

I used to use a 7600GS, i found that most of the time the newer drivers didn't cause any slowdowns and sometimes i even got more fps. But the the old drivers like 93.71 caused it to crash some times. i got up to 140. The latest is 182.06, i'd think you'd be fine.

Thx bro, i'll try.
I used CSS(hl2 mod) test procedure and fraps to test the difference between later driver and 93.71.And it seemed later one got higher max frame while 93.71 got higher min frame(just by my feeling of what fraps showed). And if the lastest driver won't cause any performance drop i'll use it 'cause i also want to play latest game.

Additionally, it seemed that cod5 and Silent Hill 5 got problems themselves,
what's more sometimes the requirment of CPU by latest games is beyond our single core,
like cod5 and farcry2, while our graphic cards can still handle, but we can not play them as well, what a pity.

I'm not sure about cod5 or Silent hill5, i can run Farcry 2 medium-high settings at 24fps,i can run crysis on high and Fallout maxed. try running cod5 and silent hill 5 without any aa or af.

I have a 7600GT in one of my machines and I have had no problems at all updating it. I would tend to keep updating to the latest version. Yes they may not add any more optimisations to the 7 series driver path, but equally they will not really add any more hurdles. But if the 7 series doesn't play a game correctly like you describe they will add a fix.

You could use an app like 3dmark 06 to try and asses whether the next driver you install is better or worse for yourself after each install, or just go with FPS or feel in games you commonly play, but I have found it just isnt worth staying with the last graphics driver when the 7 series was near the top, they just don't work well enough with the latest games. But keep the old driver installs incase an old game stops working etc. As it can be useful to try old drivers if you hit a problem in a game.

thx.I tried cod4 with the latest driver and I "feel" it got some performance drop.
I always "feel" new driver get lower min frames.
I oc my card from 650/1600 to 1700/1700 with 93.71, while i don't know how to oc with the new driver(that may cause some drop).

btw, how can i oc with 182.06? I used to oc just with the cracked driver(use nv tweak)

Well, i think i've found my favorite driver--93.71, compared to 94.24
I play hl2 mods frequently, and 93.71 give me much better performence than 94.24
