Problem with Optimized driver

hi, i installed the latest Optimized driver for my XFX 8600GT and i cannot run GTAIV i get a error msg: "GTAIV Fatal Error: Unable to create depth render target- please re-install DirectX and/or install the latest video card driver"

i tried re-installing both Direct X and the Driver but hasnt made any difference. NFS Underground works, just GTAIV thats giving that msg.

im using Vista 32bit

Have you tried reinstalling the previous driver that was working before to narrow down where the problem is, also I assume in installing the drivers you have restarted your system as that can solve a miriad of problems.

hi, thanks for ur reply, i tried re-installin the previous driver that worked and that works, i did reboot after installing and uninstallation. i found a Beta driver on Nvidia's site which is ment to increase performance on GTAIV, i have that installed atm and it works.

is the Optimized driver going to be updated?
