Default GF 7600GT problems

ok, my relatively new (bought 1 year ago) GeForce 7600GT card is failing with the gay BSoD saying nv4_disp.dll caught in infinite loop and all that jazz, but it only happens when i play a graphical game (counter strike or anything that takes some sort of graphics) after googling the problem i found this problem is VERY common.

So, after reading about it i found out the best way to fix it is to update yours drivers. so i went onto nvidia.com and looked through and went to the downlod/update drivers page, found my card, series 7 geforce windows XP. i dled it all and then installed it, BUT after i rebooted the comp, it went back to as if it never had a card at all, like only color choice is lowest (4 bit) and 800 x 600.

I am going to trying using the cd to put it back to like it was. but i feel i will still have to BSoD, any suggestions?

How many time it does that ?!?! ... if it started for nowhere try to reinstall the o/s it can solve your prob... but this issue is not really new from nVidia... as you can see on the net... nVidia is the biggest bsod maker for Windows... so no wonder if the drivers do that...

Actually, I've just recently had this problem myself at the Internet cafe at I work at.

Check to see if you have service pack 2 installed, if not, install it; but personally I recommend d/ling the 91.47 drivers from the NVIDIA website.

Hopefully that fixes the problem, it helped me out.

this may seem strange but have you checked to make sure the fan is spinning on the gpu cooler?
possibly, it could be damaged from heat...
