7800GS Nvidia Control Panel

I have motherboard Gigabyte GA-K8NSC-939 NForce3, graphic Gainward Bliss 7800GS AGP.

When i installed newest graphic card driver, than NVIDIA control panel not properly identyfing [COLOR=#000080! important][COLOR=#000080! important]graphic [COLOR=#000080! important]card[/COLOR][/COLOR][/COLOR] (in header show NVIDIA unknown), properly identyfig AGP 8x, but is very poor performerce.
When i apply old 97.46 driver graphic card, Nvidia control panel properly show that is NVIDIA 7800gs but AGP 0x, and all working very slowely.
Bad identification graphic card in Nvidia control panel start with drivers uppper than 100.
Please help me what new driver i can installed, eventualy any issue configuration these problem.

sounds like a badly installed driver too me

make sure you remove all previous driver before trying too install new ones

I install driver on clean system. New drivers from nvidia not properly identyfying this graphic card. May be some modyfication *.inf ???
In header Nvidia Control Panel still Nvidia Unknown, only on 97.46 is good. But is problem becouse under Vista isn't properly working driver.

HI,
have the same card as you and had same problems.
Also got a loop when i was gaming.
i have installed the: http://www.ngohq.com/home.php?page=F...eme&dwn_id=269
drivers.
Problems are gone.
Newest ones are no good for older AGP cards.
Also mailed with Gainward service desk, they told me the same.
Do it, and you will notice, better image, smoother run, and no problems like that anymore.
Also on my older computer with a FX5900XT i installed older drivers.
Also here, better performance !
I think this is the answer for your problem, like it was for me.

PS I have seen you using vista ?
If you want best graphics, install XP again !
Almost everyone with vista has a problem !

I returned to XP and all working O.K. on old drivers. May be problem is not with graphic card but with Nforce3 on my motherboard. I don't now. I waiting for best drivers from nvidia
