#2 | | Site Staff | I've a feeling that you're just trying to make us look bad by the design of this question, but I will answer you anyway. NGOHQ.com is not just another driver modders site. NGOHQ.com is a big site and it takes a lot of time to maintain it and keep it working. We have too many projects, reviews, articles and stuff on our minds and schedule and we can’t spend many days on beta testing and development just for 100 users. Yes, we can also offer x64 versions but we don’t want to offer buggy projects for our readers. And surely manufactures like Nvidia and many of the partners are not supporting/helping us.
We already tried Windows x64 for a few weeks, and it is very disappointing. Anyhow, windows x64 is not popular and not many users are using it, Vista x64 is simply horrible as well. Our target audience is gamers and x64 environment is not for gaming, it’s for applications and software. Most of the other modders have x64 editions because they don’t have to write/edit tons of reviews, interviews, solve problems, deal with assholes, meetings and reply to many emails.
NGOHQ.com is a big site and it’s not easy to run it. These drivers are supposed to be a bonus, not the primary objective. The site is not updating itself, the site is not designing and working by itself. Someone has to do it, someone has to post news, do PR, write reviews and keep the site running and kicking, you know. And next time please asks respected questions directly (“Why you don’t have x64 drivers?”) instead of (“Why most of the modders make except of you?”). It sounds like someone sent you to ask this question (Can I have a guess who?).

#5 | | Advanced Newbie | | GPU: NVIDIA GeForce 7600GT | | | RAM: 2x512MB Kingstone DDR2 | | Regeneration I used Your drivers for a long time. But after buying 64bit CPU I've started to use 64bit OS. You've miss understanded me.
You're right - 64bit OS is working a little slower when playing 32bit games.
But OTHER modders give users a CHOICE. You don't.
Other thing : Vista x64 is installed as default OS for processors with x64 support in many, many computers configurations by companies. You also cut off those people from choice.
I think that Your opinion Quote: |
and development just for 100 users
| is wrong.
But I respect Your time. |

#6 | | Site Staff | We are following demand. According to our statistic and information - only 10% of our readers are using x64, while everyone else uses XP x86. When there will be enough demand, we will offer x64 versions as well. Maybe it will change in the future, but now x64 drivers are waste of time. Sorry. My recommendation for you is to switch back to XP/Vista x86 because x64 is not mature yet. |

Thx for answering. | I'm using Vista x86 not because of drivers, because of the general poor x64 support and its performance. x64 uses poor emulation and it can cause problems. These x64 editions are for intended for software, not for gaming and our uses. We have used X64 for a long time, and it took us 1-2 months to switch back to x86. Windows 2003 is not good as well because of the services and its aimed for servers, not home users. At this point, Windows XP is probably the best for home users, atleast until Microsoft will release SP1 for Vista. |

Anyway, bottom line about the driver is if enough users will ask for it, I will raise it in the next staff meeting and maybe we will offer it in the future. It’s all about demand. Currently is there is more demand for Vista driver then x64.
