#1 | | Newbie | | M/B: Asus Striker Extreme | | | RAM: 4GB Crucial Balistix | | Video drivers unresponsive after installing SP2 Hello, i'm having a strange driver problem with my Windows Server 2003 machine. Anytime i install SP2 for 2003 the video drivers cause the GUI to become unresponsive/slow or unusable. This happens if I install the drivers before SP2, and if i install the video drivers after SP2. I also have DX9C installed, as well as all hardware accelleration enabled.
PS i'm using 2.9792 drivers
If anyone has any ideas i would really appreciate it.
Thank you
Have a nice day |

#6 | | Newbie | | M/B: Asus Striker Extreme | | | RAM: 4GB Crucial Balistix | | Well, i just tried NGOHQ 1.9381 and it's actually worse. It won't draw the mouse cursor or the logon window when i boot Windows 2003. I don't know what else to do, i think i will try reinstalling 2003 and install SP1 and see if i can get the drivers to atleast work with that.
If anyone has any other suggestions i would really appreciate it.
Thank you
Have a nice afternoon. |

Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 use the same drivers so they should be compatible. I did try the regular Nvidia drivers, but i think i will try them again. I'll post back the results of using the standard Nvidia drivers.
Thank you

#10 | | Newbie | | M/B: Asus Striker Extreme | | | RAM: 4GB Crucial Balistix | | Hello, i just tried the November 2, 2006 WHQL release of the NVIDIA drivers. They produce the same results as the NGOHQ drivers. I think there is something in SP2 that is doing it. I'm going to try SP1 now.
I also have my machine setup with XP Pro on it, i use the NGOHQ drivers and they work fine with the hardware. I scored 12,073 on 3DMark06 in SLI mode. I won't be using SLI often because i use multiple monitors.
I'll keep updating my results as i work through this problem.
Thank you
Have a nice afternoon |
