Default Dualview issues

Howdy guys - its been a long time since I was in here :-)

I recently got a new LCD which now runs at 1600 x 1200 native. This replaced my old 17" LCD which had 1280 x 1024 native. Now I was using another driver and couldnt get dual view - clone only or the one where the entire desktop goes over both screens.

Now I d/l the NGO driver and installed all OK. I had to back off the settings on the overclock as it had me at 780 / 1500 where the card std is at 580 / 750. I set the 20" monitor resolution to native and the 17" to its native and all looked good until next time you have to boot up.

The one thing I am screwed on is this:

I have set dualview so I get the extended desktop. When i boot up I can get to desktop then after a second or two (usually as drivers etc are loading) it reboots. Then this cycle remains. I unplugged all the other things in my PC to elliminate a device error but all comes back to this and the only way to get a good boot is to remove the second monitor to make it return to single mode.

Any ideas or suggestions on what might be causing the instability here?

I have dual DVI off my GPU which I am using both (Gainward 7950GT 512Mb card)

I know this can sound a little stupid, but these kind of things happen if you have two monitors running at different resolutions.

Heres a weird thing.

I was playing about trying to get it to work with drivers etc and I decided to try plugging the cable for the second monitor into its Analogue slot instead of the digital.

Booted up fine with dual view and all stable.

For some reason using both digital outs etc was causing something to brain freeze and reboot.

So far all good :-)

Glad to hear that,

But keep in mind that if your monitor is natively analog, you should always plug prioritarily into a VGA plug, not a DVI.
