How do I enable hardware acceleration in old control panel?

Hi,

I want to enable hardware acceleration for my home theater set up.
But, I can't find where you enable hardware acceleration. I was thinking of getting pure video from nVidia or something like it... analog cable really needs to be cleaned up to enjoy.. any ideas?
