Hello just to say that the driver works really good besides that it does not let me overclock a single mhz. when starting a game the laptop freezes. Any idea why ??

because of this I have to use another driver.

keep up the good work !

i have the same card in my laptop, and so far i have never successfully overclocked it because it runs too hot at stock speeds

the card even burnt out once, just from siting on a table on for 24 hours. (i had to send the compy back twice, so it could be a design flaw)

if i were you, i would be happy that you have a laptop that works.

laptops never were the best at overclocking, considering they have to pack a ton of components into a small, poorly ventilated space.

plus when i did try to OC it, i couldn't get it to go any faster either. the omega drivers that i used disabled the ability to overclock, so the already hot card would not burn

it is not the driver's fault, but the card that it runs on

Hi, thanks for the reply but my laptop has been prepared/modded so i can overclock. It has a fan on the gpu and both cpu and gpu reveiced articsilver 5 so that is not a problem for me.

Just fishished doing the test. With stock ati drivers i can overclock just fine, instaled the ngo drivers and i can't overclock. For e.g. Test drive unlimitied crashes 2 seconds after pressing the icon lol

why ??

Our driver includes 'beta' support for laptops. If you're having issues with overclocking, you can try to use ATITool or ATI Tray Tools.

Many technicians recommend that you do NOT place a laptop directly onto a solid surface because of this very reason. It suffocates the inside of the computer and therefore allows for the overheating. The cheapest thing to use is a baking cooling wire rack and place the laptop onto that. It provides enough space then for air to get into the bottom vents. If you can't get one of these, try anything that will put at least a half to 3/4 inch of space beneath the laptop.

Good luck!

thanks. that heating problem is also exagerated by the fans on the laptop, they don't work at all. i am going to buy a cooling pad to help it out.
