Default When you could see the next NGO ATI driver

I’ve noticed that many readers are asking what’s going on with the drivers. As you probably already noticed, I’m taking care of the optimized drivers. I’m also the Editor in Chief. That means I’m the one who make sure we will have a content to display. Unlike other authors of modified drivers, I also need to write reviews/articles and make sure you will enjoy your stay in this website. I will not post my tasks list because it’s too big and I don’t even know where to start.

Recently I’m working very hard on my duties. Like in other things in life, nothing is going smooth as you expected. For example, companies are always giving me hard time with their crappy cooperation. As you can see in other websites, they are getting a lot of samples for reviews. Some of these websites are even less popular and known then NGOHQ. But some companies are just bunch of n00bs who don’t know who to evaluate a website. Instead of providing us samples, they provide it to cars magazines, amateur’s websites and to a little kids. I have to chase them all day long to make sure they will provide us the information we need for our reviews.

As you probably noticed, we are focused on the graphics industry, but the companies involved are also providing most of their cooperation to cars magazines. We receive a very shitty treatment compared to other websites. All this lack of cooperation is influencing our work. Instead of working on drivers, I have to chase after PRs and make phone calls all day long. Why? Because companies aren’t reading news and they know shit. They are letting the dog to do the horse’s job and the let the horse do the dog’s job. Bottom line: they are bunch of idiots.

Since all these duties are consuming a lot of time, I have less time to work on the optimized drivers. That’s why it’s taking me so much time to release a driver. I really want you to know what’s going on and understand why it’s taking me so much time recently. However if you know me already, you know I’m not giving up easily and already have some plans to change stuff and get some more free time for it. But, it may take some time.

Well man I for one know how hard you work here and also share your frustration in manufacturers taking NGOHQ lightly on reviews and articles and what we do here .. we are not Noobs !!

Give f**king samples to car magazines and sites that I wouldn't even stoop to join ...

I help as I can and most of my help is in the background .. if my name isn't signed as "reviewer" or "editor" on something you ask me to edit who gives a shit .. its for the site and there is no "I" in "team" right.

I haven't once asked when your new drivers will be out as I know how busy you are .. they will be here when you have time to present them

Thank you for a much detailed response. Probably more detailed than what we needed or wanted, but appreciated at any rate.

I think most of us asking are doing so for two main reasons:

1. Curiosity. To an extent, I think we all realize that putting out totally free 3rd party drivers is no picnic. But, having some idea of whether we should wait a week, two weeks, or a month, might help in any decisions we may face as to how to handle or even try other drivers. I, for one, am totally happy with the current 1.6.4. set as they are performing splendidly! So, my hat's off to you for this particular set.

2. I may be speaking for myself, but, I'm really not interested in a new set for the sake of having a new/updated set of drivers. I'd MUCH prefer that any new drivers will also provide BETTER performance, BETTER IQ, or BETTER EASE of use than any current drivers. If there's no improvements, why bother? Right?

So, my encouragement would be, take your time, work on getting top notch quality in all of the above areas, and then release something that really packs a punch. I wouldn't mind knowing that I was going to only get 2 - 4 new sets of drivers a year IF I also knew that each new set was going to actually be better than the previous one.

Anyone else follow my logic?
