Default Change resolution problem

Hi, thanks for this tweaked driver, it's good. Getting 25fps in Oblivion now where I was getting 16.

However, got a weird bug. Seems that when the driver initialises originally, it's fine. And as long as I don't change screen res, it keeps working. But if the driver is reinitialised, either by changing a screen setting in ATT or by a game changing the res, the system locks up. First I can't click on anything and the keyboard doesn't work, then I get a system beep and the mouse freezes.

I'm using a Mobility Radeon X700 128MB vram built into an ASUS V6Va notebook (2GB system mem)

Interestingly, the Fn keys still work after the system freezes. I can still change screen brightness which on the Asus is controlled by software. I can't however shutdown, restart, CTRL+ALT+DEL etc.

Tried installing in Ultra and Standard modes (the new v6.3 Catalyst based version). Both times restarted, did CHKDSK (because of the freeze), ran ATI Catalyst removal tool, then Driver Cleaner, restarted, then installed the NGO drivers - still same problem.

Haven't previously had a problem with the Asus drivers or OmegaDrivers.

My guess is this could be a problem with the v6.3 Catalyst drivers (doesn't seem to have anything to do with Oblivion except that Oblivion is changing screen res - but it crashes when I just change res). Or could be a problem with a tweak.

The only other thing I can think of which is causing this is NGO drivers in combination with Notebook Hardware Control v1.10beta2.

Hmm! Let me know if any more h/w info would be helpful!

Thx, orph

Default Change resolution bug Pt. 2

I just did a complete driver uninstall of the NGO drivers and installed the official ATI Catalyst v6.3 (for the first time) - doesn't seem to have the change res problem (even using Notebook Hardware Control still), so my guess is some tweak in the NGO driver is giving me grief . I guess I'll have to live with ATI drivers for a bit .

Back to Oblivion! Hazaah!

Default The bug is in ATT

Hey, found the bug. Reinstalled the driver clean and it still hangs the computer on change resolution - but only when ATT is running.

Any ideas?
