Default Latest ATI Catalyst not working OK

Yebo Gogo,

I downloaded and installed the latest ATI Catalyst Centre. After installing, my
display on my startup windows looses its sharpness, like it is on a lower resolution.
I have a Radeon 7500 card, is there any place / site that I can download my latest drivers for this card. I also cannot play Ghost Recon on my PC at all.
Please help.

Thanks

What resolution is it currently at?
Have you changed any settings since you installed the drivers?
What sort of monitor do you have?

See! Good news, you HAVE already downloaded the latest drivers. Or if you are just asking about where to get them from I might go out on a limb and say try www.ati.com. Or maybe even try this amazing new site called Google.

We will try to help, but we need more information. What happens when you try to play Ghost Recon? Does the game freeze/crash to desktop? What are your system specs? What OS are you running? Have you installed any patches for the game? Tell us the method you use to install new drivers. Have you tried rolling back your drivers to ensure it is actually a driver problem? Have you been to the ubi.com forums to see if anybody else is having the same problems (there is no mention of any problems in the release notes of the Catalyst 5.12s).

Yebo gogo,

If I click on the game icon, it goes in to let me select the gaming options, everything I selected on the lowest, grahics etc. then I choose the play option in the game like expert, you know that stuff, click on start game whatever, then it opens and it opens only for a while (where the lady is start talking/introducing) like 3 seconds and it crash. It simply dissapear from the scree. Pc doesn't hang. I then lasdt night read in the info notepad that comes with the game and it states that is has known issues with ATI Radeon 7500 cards.
Using a P4 Acer 7600GT, 1GB Ram, 120GBSATA + 2 x 80 EIDE HDDs. Thats it. I got the Catalyst from Ati. com, which was in October this year. The other thing is that if I want to open up the catalyst program itself, it doesn't open only states a problem with memory related issues you know that 0000000000x768700000 error. (not the exact error but similar). After I installed it I noticed that me screen background did changed so I had to readjust it in prpoerties.

Yebo gogo,

Running XP home, no patches installed, just the plain game, and after I downloaded the catalyst, I just run the install/setup program and thats it.

Ah-ha, the mystery is solved.

As we discussed in another thread all I can suggest is that you save up for a new card. Even a 9200SE which you should be able to pick up for next to nothing is going to be a better option than your current card.

(It's a little known fact that in his manger Jesus was given a fourth present from the three wise men - a Radeon 7500. It would be a nice coincidence for you to also get a new card at Christmas time )

Just a quick question: I again download the catalyst now, I think the one I install was corrupt cause I feel it should be able to at least open the program once installed. How can I safely and surely remove the one I'd install?
