#1 | | Guest | BF2 wasnt working (but is now) Ok i got this working with a manual driver install and by using the omega uninstall from control panel. Duh! thanks Dear NGO folks, Having read good stuff about NGO performance compared to ATI standard and other modded drivers, i decided to try the drivers. I had previously the omega drivers but as people reported in BF2 there are display bugs like the text goes black etc, and it crashes to desktop after rounds regularly. Anyhow I installed 3.5.6 and BF2 didnt start. Just returns to desktop after splash screen. Same with demo and full; same after deleting entire profiles directory. I even started in safe mode and ran driver cleaner, and deleted ATI reg entries, then reinstalled; same error. Ok, i thought, beta drivers, nevermind, try 2.5.6. Did the same (cleaner and all) and same error occured. I have installations of ATI Tool 0.25 b1 (does nice fan control) and ATI Tray Tools left over from teh omega drivers install. I also have .dmp files from BF2 when it returns to the desktop so i guess its crashing. Would be happy to help troubleshoot. Any info appreciated. Thanks. A8N SLI - D Asus X800XL A64 Venice 3000+ @ stable tagan 480 etc.

If you have any overclock on your system, cpu or GPU put them back to stock speeds and see if it works. Report back to us on it. Thanks. |

#5 | | Newbie | Yes I am having the same issues with BF2 just installed the 3.5.6 betas and was using the 1.5.6 version before it with no issues. Now as said above after splash screen the game just shuts down to desktop and thats it. I have turned of the smartgart features due to game crashes in BHD, tried doing that for BF2 and still doesnt load the game. What do we doooooo |
