Sorry if I'm asking a stupid question.

Currently I using ATI cat 9.9 under vista 64bit.
If I use SKD, that means I have to uninstall cat 9.9?

and...

ATI SKD 9.5 is the latest?

I dont know Vista at all , probable uninstall of the curently used driver wuld be nice.

And for the driver version . Its not always latest is the gretest.
And one more thing .
You never gonna get straight anser to question "what is best driver for xxxx card" becos for one person it will be driver with highest FPS count , for some one ale with best IQ .
You need to just install the driver and test it Your self mate. That the only way to finding what suiuts You best .

9.9 the worst driver ever, if i were u would get rid of it instantly.
Im using 9.8. 9.9 dropped my crysis and some other game performance by more than 20%.... ffs

That means not all the users have the same effect while using the same version of driver?

If yes, that kinda strange...

So, I have to download few version of the driver and test all of it?

Am I right in thinking that ATI is the way to go for video cards right now? What happened to nvidia?

As far as I'm concerned you are! I've used nothing but ATI cards for over 10 years and have been very pleased with the performance and support.

I would have gone Nvidia how ever a 285gtx cost over AUD$500 and an OC 4890 cost just over AUD$300 for a little over $100 more then a single 285gtx i would have crossfired 4890s that would trounce the single nvidia card. It was a no brainer from there. Could over clock a single 4890 to 1000mhz core and 1100 memory (At those speeds it comes pretty close to a 285) and 975mhz core 1100mhz memory in crossfire.
Had the price difference been less then AUD$100 i could have well picked up a Nvidia card

Thanks to this forum i can now enjoy gaming as it should be with ATI doing the graphics and Nvidia doing Physx.

My previous cards have been Nvidia. I have SLI 7900gts and my wife has my old 8800gts 640mb. Not to mention my new 9800gt physx card hehehe

Other then that i have had no major issues with the ATI cards im using now in fact i havent had any issues with any card so there both good, but in terms of price performance Nvidia just dont cut it ATM.

BTW i checked the recent prices and GTX285s have not dropped in price and hover around AUD$500, the 4890 can be had for as low as AUD$230! less then half the price!!! Nvidia your prices are f**king ridiculous!
