HIS Radeon x1650GT (LOW FPS)

Alright I recently purchased this card --> http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814161205
HIS Hightech H165GTQT512GDDAN-R Radeon X1650GT 512MB 128-bit GDDR3 AGP 8X IceQ Turbo

I made a post here http://www.driverheaven.net/ati-grap...-problems.html about my problem, they didn't solve my problem. So I turned to this site for drivers.

Alright heres the low-down
With my Nvidia Geforce 6200 (REALLY SHITTY CARD) I would get anywhere from 5-30 FPS in Counter Strike source depending on the map. I purchased this card and I get the SAME EXACT FPS.
Now before you go saying, its your computer thats bringing your FPS down.. look at this thread http://www.driverheaven.net/ati-grap...-x1650pro.html

That guys computer is the same as mine, if not worse, and his FPS destroys mine. He has the Omega catalyst 6.5 drivers installed and he gets anywhere from 80-100 fps. I tried the 6.5 drivers but in the *.inf file there is no support for a X1650 card, so I am really confused as to how he got the 6.5 drivers to work for his card.

I came here hoping you guys would solve my problem, I downloaded the latest NGO ATI Optimized Driver here --> http://www.ngohq.com/home.php?page=F...t&dwn_cat_id=9 . It did NOT solve my FPS problem, I am getting VERY SLIGHTLY better fps. Instead of 5-30, its more like 5-35.

How am I supposed to fix my FPS problem? should I install an older version of your optimized drivers?

Drivers can improve FPS but not to turn dust into gold (30 FPS to 200 FPS). However, it seems that CS:S should run good on your system; so its not normal. What settings/resolution are you using? Have you tried to reinstall the OS, VIA drivers, update BIOS and former builds of Catalyst?

800x600 resolution, with EVERYTHING set to the lowest setting it can go. I get a maximum of like 30 fps on DUST2, and that map isn't graphics demanding at all.

My computer is 4-5 years old, and we have moved a couple times within that time frame. All my original CD's that came with the computer are long gone, so re-installing the OS is not an option.

To find your motherboard drivers you can go to ASUS site (your motherboard manufacturer) and download the newest BIOSes / drivers.

To find your motherboard model you have to fill the research fields:
1º Motherboard
2º SocketA(462)
3º A7V8X (remember to get your specific model from your motherboard manual or even some software that detect your hardware, like everest, AIDA, SANDRA etc..)

However some of the components of your motherboard (like the via chipset) has its own drivers that are more updated that the ones you find in the asus website, I really think its a good idea to get the newest driver instead of using the ones provided by asus (most of them are outdated).

The best thing i can said... before do the settings at your games .... normaly ... configure the catalyst control panel... alot of ATI users complains about this fact and the problems are resolved by doing an checkup of the CCC ... after that... if it's dont improve the performances... think do an flash of your bios... or get the right drivers.. (normaly you're suposed to do that) and if you want the best drivers( i think) get the Omegas OD 7.12 on the official website...

Try theses littles tricks... and if not workin came here and we will try to solve your problem more farther

And if an driver is not maked for an card .. took always the most recent driver for have the best experience

P.S:i added an little fact for you about fps

i don't about the 1650gt but i have seen a 1600 in action and i wouldn't recommend one of those to an enemy.

it seems to me the 1650 is simply a really wimpy gfx card.
wtf did you expect for 50 bucks?

I had the 1650 pro ,exact same card and , a system much like yours
it was kick ass on everything

only thing i noticed was the card does tend too run a little hotter than i would like

so extra fans

what temp your card running at??
i didnt find the iceq very good at all
