Hello all! Just registered, so that is about as new as you get.
Heres my prob!

So i just reformatted my pc. ( before format, was running like a champ stock driver )Updated all drivers including 8.1 hotifx.

Was blowing threw widows applications running great. I loaded World of Warcraft, ran for about 5min and system lost video signal hardlocked ( i could hear voice on ventrilo repeating over and over and over ) then after it sits for a few mins restarts. Since then ive been working on it for around 3 days. Here is what ive done so far

Tried about 5 differnt drivers, including 1 that came with videocard
swapped out ram
bought new power supply 650w Antec Trio (only replaced because board wouldnt power up)
ive tried various other small tricks to try to get it working but to no avail
It will play counterstrike, quake 3, but if you try to play world of warcraft, it will lock up on you anywhere from 3 - 15min it varies.

Im completly out of ideas. help if possible

Sounds like something to do with the card itself. Are you O/Cing and / or have you tried the card in another machine ?

BTW welcome to NGOHQ.com

Try setting Overclocking Options (in your motherboard's BIOS) to Standard (instead of AUTO - auto messes up with voltages and memory timings sometimes) And if you can set your memory timings by yourself. If you're going to update your BIOS, change the settings AFTER the new BIOS is installed.

no doesn't sound like OCing, try installing just the 8.1 drivers only, not the hotfix and see what happens

Maybe is the voltage given by the agp port ... sometimes when you change an component and you didn't settle the bios at optimal settings ... the settings are putted for the specs of the older components... so try to check this out... if your card lock up.. is only 2 things can do that ... Overclocking(VPU RECOVER) and the card is not enough supplied in power.

It's can be idiot... check your cables too
